I have a question about the health check for retirement visa . Going to apply in Australia. Been looking at doing this for a while and now have the 800,000 in a Thai bank.
Question is what checks do they need and can it be done in Thailand in my next trip before applying for a visa.
Cheers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about health checks necessary for applying for a retirement visa from Australia, specifically seeking clarity on whether these checks can be completed in Thailand prior to visa application. Comments reveal a distinction between two visa categories: the Non-O visa, which does not require health checks, and the Non-OA visa, which mandates health insurance and a health certificate. It's noted that applicants for Non-O visas need to show proof of 800,000 baht in a Thai bank, but healthcare documentation isn't required.

Apply for a 90 day non O visa this allows you to get s bank account to pay the 800,000bht then extend it for a year, it then renewed every year this is how most people do it ,no need for medical insurance or police checks.
this is the correct information if you have the funds to put into a thai bank. Apply for 90 days O visa, no checks required, once here open a bank account transfer the funds then apply yourself at immigration for one year extension
You seem to be confusing 2 different visas. 1. Non-OA requires health insurance but not 800,000 baht in a Thai bank. 2. Non-O requires 800,000 in a Thai bank to extend your stay for 12 months, but there's no medical insurance requirement.
Yes, online at the Thai Embassy in Aus. It's a bit confusing as it's a 90 day visa based on retirement and the wording is a bit strange. It looks like this...
so what - many immi offices use wrong terminology re. extensions for example.. Many call it a visa extension but it is in fact an extension of the permission to stay. When a permission to stay is expired some offices say "your visa is expired" and that's nonsense.
You will need to declare pre existing conditions for your health insurance and then get a certificate signed by your gp which says you don’t have: leprosy, tb and syphallis
For the non-oa you will also need a health certificate to be submitted with the visa application. There are specific illnesses they want to verify you don’t have. The details should be on your countries Thai embassy website
When you say Health Check, do you actually mean Health Insurance??
No health check required if you are applying for the Non-O visa mate… BUT; if you are going for the Non-OA then YES, you will require Heath Insurance. Hope that helps.
