Hey all

I know for the first 90 days report, you’re supposed to go physically to immigration.

someone told me that rule applies every time u leave the countty. I thought it only applies for first time after a new visa.

whos right?

if i left the country recently and already had a 90 days report for this visa extension, can i file online next time?

thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The initial 90-day report after obtaining a visa must be done in person. Additionally, the first report after returning to Thailand from abroad also requires in-person submission. Subsequent reports may be filed online if the address on record hasn't changed since the last report, but there are risks of rejection after attempting to report online following international travel.

I was told you can do online reporting if your address hasn't changed since last report. Foreign travel can mess that up.

I just did it by post and it came back ok (Bangkok, 1st one after returning from abroad)

Here is an example of the email they send you IF you get rejected after coming back into the country and trying to apply online.

You're out nothing by trying but many MANY people are indeed getting the rejection email

IF your immigration office accepts 90 day reports by mail you can do that and it counts for "in person" reporting 🙂

In person every time you return

IT being what it is, I would try it online 15 days prior due date, and if rejected, would go in person...

Definitely get rejected in my experience. And if you wait until 15 days before due, you almost certainly wouldn't get an appointment at Chaengwattana, so might have to hang around pointlessly for hours.

@Mike *******
I, personally had been granted, and not everyone is living in Bangkok nor must make an appointment for the 90 days report.

But your comment makes sense.
Brandon ************
@Mike *******
why not make the appointment then still try online?
Steve *********
@Brandon ***********
That’s what I did. I made an appointment 30 days before the due date then submitted online 5 times from 15 days before the due date each of which was rejected then used the appointment that I had previously booked to submit in person. If you have an appointment waiting time is just minutes in my experience so minimal time wasted.

The new change is your very first 90 day report (once you have an entry/visa/extension that requires it) has to be done in person

AND

the very first 90 day report required after you return from abroad (the one due 89 days from the date you stamp in to the country) has to be done in person as well

So if you recently re-entered the country you need to do the next 90 day report in person

Hi Tod, Does this also apply for marriage/retirement visas?
Tod *********
@Peter **********
any entry/visa/extension that requires 90 day reporting,

you do the first one after the extension in person (or by mail if you office allows it) and you do the first one after you come back into the country in person or by mail if your office allows it

thankyou

@Tod ********
I've seen reports of people submitting their 90 day report after re-entering the country by mail. Anyone authoritatively know whether this is possible at Chaengwattana?
Ellie *******
@Mike *******
, you can send your 90-day report to chaengwattana by Thailand post EMS date stamped 15 days before the due date
Mike ********
@Ellie ******
But will it be accepted if it's your first report after reentering the country?
@Tod ********
specifically wrote "So if you recently re-entered the country you need to do the next 90 day report *in person*". This is also what the rejection email says if you submit online.
Tod *********
@Mike *******
IF your immigration office accepts 90 day reporting by mail (which Chaengwattana does) then you can do that for the first one, no matter if it's the very first 90 day report ever OR the first one after returning to the country
