Hi,I renewed my extension of stay 3 weeks before the previous one expired. The new one was dated for a year from the date of when the old one expired.Regarding my 90 day report.,am I correct that the 90 days runs from the date on the actual extension of stay.
Answer summary
When renewing an extension of stay in Thailand, the 90-day reporting period does not reset automatically. It typically continues from the date you last entered Thailand. If you receive a new report receipt with a new due date upon extension, then the 90-day clock resets; otherwise, it remains as per the original entry.

The date is on the report document that should be rd stapled in the back of your passport

the question was did the 90 days reset when they got a year extension from an existing year extension and that answer is no :)

when I did my last 90 day they wrote the the extension renewal date on my report slip. When I renewed they updated that to a new date.

yep but ONLY a few offices do that, and it's why I posted the "how can you tell if they reset my 90 days when I got an extension" explanation down below :)

This is how you can tell with 100% accuracy IF when you got a new yearly extension they "reset" your 90 day reporting date :)

When you get a new year extension inked into your passport ask yourself

If that answer is YES, it means they DID reset your 90 day reporting when you got your extension and you report on the new date on the new receipt they gave you

If that answer is NO it means they DID NOT reset your 90 day reporting when you got your extension and your report is still due when ever it was due before you applied for the extension ..

nope,
@Chas ********
90 days doesn't reset when you get a new year extension, you still do your 90 day reporting when it was due

My office refused to start that counter until I got my 1 year extension of stay. So they let me stay during my initial Non-O 90 days, and the 60 day extension before they started the timer on the day my 1 year extension was from.

I found that strange and I asked them about it at least 3 times to confirm. ๐Ÿ˜…

I know it seems strange, I had someone come in on 60 days, take the 30 day extension, get an in country 90 day Non-O visa, then take the 60 day visit thai family extension and FINALLY applied for the year extension, <- that means they'd been IN country 60+30+90+60 = EIGHT MONTHS but they didn't start doing 90 day reporting until they got their year extension :O

Yeah, I was just kinda baffled that they didn't care until the 1st 1-year extension. I was here for a solid 150 days before I got that sorted.

this person was already ON a yearly extension and applied for another one, that doesn't do anything with 90 day reporting at all

IF you're on an initial 90 day Non-O visa you don't START even counting the 90 days until you get your FIRST yearly extension. That's when they usually put a paper in your passport telling you when your first 90 days is due like this

The ninety days runs from the day you last entered Thailand and is not otherwise related to dates of visas or extensions
