If my tourist visa application is declined, can I still enter Thailand on a visa exemption?

Hi, I am currently applying for a single entry tourist visa. I am from a country (France) that has visa exemption for 30 days but I would rather apply for a tourist visa so that I can stay longer. If my visa application is declined, would anyone know if that would override my right to enter on a visa exemption? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a single entry tourist visa despite being eligible for a 30-day visa exemption as a French citizen. They inquire whether a declined visa application would affect their right to enter Thailand under the visa exemption rule. Responses indicate that a declined application does not impact entry rights, and immigration officials at the airport will not have knowledge of the earlier application.

You can also extend 30 days once in Thailand cost 1,900 baht. You can do this for either option.

It won't change your ability to enter on visa exempt. Immigration at the airport won't even know you ever applied for a tourist visa.
