When leaving and come back in to Thailand with a re-entry permit does your previous extension expiration date change or stay the same?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you leave Thailand on an ED visa with a re-entry permit, your previous extension expiration date remains unchanged. Upon return, you will be stamped in with the same date that was valid when you left. However, the only aspect that may change is your 90-day reporting requirement.

Do we need re-entry permit if we have the ED PLUS visa?

Only your 90 day reporting changes.

A re-entry permit only prevents your stamp from becoming void when you leave. It won't change any dates. When you return you'll be stamped in to end the same date as what you had when you left.
