I'm in Chiang Mai and have an ED visa. This month I need to do my 90 day reporting and extension at Promenada. Can those both be done in the same line? I've heard you can do part of it online but that it only works successfully part of the time....Is it true I should arrive at 4 or 5 am to stand in line? Can I also apply for a multi entry permit the same day? Or would it be more efficient to do that on a different day?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Chiang Mai, it's possible to complete your 90-day reporting, visa extension, and apply for a re-entry permit on the same day, especially if you have an ED visa. However, while you can attempt to start part of the process online, it may not always be reliable. It's usually advisable to arrive early at the immigration office, around 7:30 AM should suffice. Keep in mind that if you're studying at a private school, your extension will typically only be for 90 days, which affects the validity of any re-entry permit you obtain.

you can do your 90 day report, your extension and get a re-entry permit all on the same day.

Remember though if you are studying at a private school you're ONLY going to get an extension for 90 days. So if you buy a re-entry permit it's only good for 90 days too (not a year).

I'd say you're okay if you get there by about 7:30 or so. They don't limit ED visa extensions like they do visa extensions for other reasons up there.
