The conversation discusses whether a retirement visa falls under the category of essential travel. Most participants generally agree that since individuals on a retirement visa are living in Thailand, returning to the country is seen as going home and thus should be permitted. However, there are concerns about awareness of visa conditions among airport authorities and possible travel exemptions based on current regulations.

Mat Pendergast. Problem is a retirement visa is only valid for one year. I know they can be extended every year, but it's unlikely airport police etc would be aware of visa conditions

If you mean with regards to a travel exemption from dept of home affairs , as long as you state you will be overseas longer than 3 months , then yes ..
