Can you claim VAT refund at the airport if you’re holding DTV, but leaves the country in less than 180 days?

If you leaves the country in less than 180 days, and then comes back in do you need to report and apply for extension with 10K bahts?

TIA. 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query discusses whether it's possible to claim a VAT refund at the airport while holding a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and leaving the country in less than 180 days. It also inquires about the necessity of reporting and applying for an extension if returning shortly after leaving. A comment clarifies that the DTV is a five-year multi-entry visa, allowing multiple exits and re-entries with a new 180-day entry stamp each time.

the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is sold as a FIVE year, multi-entry visa.

That means for the five years it's valid for you can exit/re-enter all you want and each time you will get stamped in on a NEW 180 day entry stamp
