Do we need to get any notifications in our son's passport before leaving Thailand as foreigners with a newborn?

Hello, here's my issue: Last year my son was born in Thailand and since then he has not left the country. Me and my wife are both foreigners who study online in Thailand on ED visa extensions. We have already got a passport for our son at the embassy and plan to go abroad for a couple of weeks. Then we want to come back to Thailand using re-entry permits (parents) and visa exemption (son).

The question is: Do we have to go to the Immigration to get any stamp/notification/note/etc. to our son's passport before leaving Thailand or we can simply go to the airport and pass through the border control with his blank passport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Parents of a newborn in Thailand, wishing to travel abroad and return, wonder if their child needs an immigration stamp or notification in their passport before departure. It appears that a birth certificate is necessary when exiting Thailand, as authorities require it for verification when the child's passport is blank. However, the process is straightforward, and parents can simply present the child's passport and birth certificate at airport control for departure. Upon return, the child qualifies for a 30-day visa exemption.

As others have said, you'll need to show his Thai birth certificate at the airport passport control as they write details from it in his passport.

Bring birth Certificate when you enter Thailand. I had to that. Same situation as you.

Bring the birth certificate (in Thai or English). We were asked to show it before flying out as my son's passport was blank (born in Thailand).

Make sure you have spare time before flying out. Took immigration some time to make copies of things, I had to sign a few documents....

There is no issue at all having your foreign child stamp OUT of thailand after being born inside the country. 🙂 You don't go to immigration you don't go anywhere. You just show up with the new passport at the airport and they'll stamp him out.

When they come back they'll get a 30 day visa exempt entry

and

then you can let them overstay (as there are no overstay fines for children under 15 and no banning for children under 18)
