TLDR : Answer Summary
When relocating permanently from Thailand, it's advisable to cancel your non-immigration O visa and ED visas at the immigration office to avoid future complications, especially if you ever wish to return. If you are on extensions of stay, you must cancel them before leaving. However, if you do not plan to come back, you may choose to simply leave without cancellation, as visas do not need to be cancelled officially.

, you can't ever renew a visa (or an extension) inside or outside the country you get a new one every year

If you have stamps like this in your passport you are on an extension of stay.

AND

if you want to know the correct way to do it you should go cancel them at the immigration office by showing them the date you're leaving and they will give you a new stamp good until that date only

This is what an extension stamp looks like. (this one is for retirement) yours would be for taking care of your child here.

As long as you don't intend to come back here you could leave and they will run out BUT if you ever come back and want to get them again you will have a problem if you don't cancel these

If you are on extensions of stays from the immigration office yes the proper way is to go there and cancel them BEFORE you leave.

However you mention before we relocate to another country for good, meaning you would never come back here, and in that case just leave.

Sooi Lin Delandin . Do you renew in Thailand at an immigration office, or renew at a Thai consulate? If it's at an immigration office in Thailand then you dont have a visa but an 'extention of stay'. If you aint coming back then dont worry about it.
