TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion primarily revolves around experiences with immigration officers regarding the requirement to show bank account information upon entry into Thailand. Most participants report never being asked to present a bank statement either during their first entry or subsequent reentries. While there are claims of occasional checks or scrutiny, particularly related to visa types and financial proof, these instances seem to be rare, and many expats feel that having a legitimate visa is usually sufficient.

Never shown anything why would they. You have your visa already

Don't look like a suspicious broke begpacker or obtain your DTV fraudulently and you should be fine.

On reentry I was asked. But I think this is rare as most people just breeze through.

I didn’t show the current account though, just the PDF I had of accounts when I applied 6mth ago.

I cannot remember anyone posting they had to show the 500k upon entry unless my memory is letting me down.

I've only read one non-anonymous poster that said they were asked how much money they had... They assumed it was the 500k, but the IO officer never actually checked and could have quite as easily been asking if they had enough cash for their trip (sometimes if 20k). YMMV

Sorry, not a direct reply to you, just answering quickly on my phone

Never

the fact you were not ask does not say nobody was asked, so it is useless to say you were never asked.

question was about who was asked, maybe you should understand the Op question before butting in on others la responses?

I have 4 entries thus far and not a single question asked or documents checked.

My passport is full of education and volunteer visas, too.

Some anonymous posters claim to have been checked for everything, including the bank account. Up to you to believe those claims or not.

there is no reason to have doubt about what anonymous posters say. I don't like the fact that people post anonymous, but suggesting they do not tell the truth is unfair.
