TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion primarily revolves around experiences with immigration officers regarding the requirement to show bank account information upon entry into Thailand. Most participants report never being asked to present a bank statement either during their first entry or subsequent reentries. While there are claims of occasional checks or scrutiny, particularly related to visa types and financial proof, these instances seem to be rare, and many expats feel that having a legitimate visa is usually sufficient.
I've only read one non-anonymous poster that said they were asked how much money they had... They assumed it was the 500k, but the IO officer never actually checked and could have quite as easily been asking if they had enough cash for their trip (sometimes if 20k). YMMV

Sorry, not a direct reply to you, just answering quickly on my phone
there is no reason to have doubt about what anonymous posters say. I don't like the fact that people post anonymous, but suggesting they do not tell the truth is unfair.
