I did it in Laos too. Easy and about 2 weeks in total. And yes, they check your bank accounts for 3 months, it’s true.

In Laos, be prepared to wait at least 2 weeks for processing time for DTV.
Maybe consider going to Vietnam, processing time much quicker, if a straight forward application, done in 5 working days.

my spouse just got his dependent visa from Vientiane within 2 days. Applied Sunday evening, paid Monday morning, approved tonight (Tuesday night). Perhaps it’s quicker because it’s for dependents?
