For extension and such... Does the photo need to be new or can you use copies from the same printing repeatedly?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa extension in Thailand, the requirement for passport photos can vary. While formal guidelines usually state that photos should be recent (within the last 6 months), some expats have reported successfully using older copies without issue. However, specific visa types, such as those associated with marriage to a Thai national, often require up-to-date photos taken recently. Experiences from various immigration offices indicate that while using older photos may work in some cases, many officers expect new photos for each application, and may compare them to prior submissions.

They want new ones, and they copy the ones you've submitted in the past into the computer database, and they do compare them, at least in Bangkok. Even when you go from the 90 day original visa to the one year extension, they want new pictures, even though the others are less than 6 months old.

Still using photos from 5 years ago never questioned

2 years ago on my non O Thai wife extension, when I went back after the under consideration period, they had the previous year's paperwork there. The IO pointed out that I'd used the same pic on both and sent me downstairs to get a new one

This was CW immigration office

You don't say which extension. If it's the married to a Thai extension with the photos out the front of the house, they must be recent.

The requirement usually says recent (within 6 months).

I've used the same passport photos for 2 years though.

They usually require them within 6 months but I use copies of ones I had from at least a couple of years ago for Visas etc.
