Do I Need to Cancel My Work Permit When Changing from Non-B to Non-O Visa in Thailand?

Question on my non B / work permit.

I'm currently on a non B / work permit (4 years).

I'm willing to change my visa to non O "marriage" as I've been officially married since November 2016 and my son is 16 months now.

Now, do I have to cancel my work permit if I change my visa from non B to non O, do I have to leave the country first or not?

Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation?

Thank you

You do not have to cancel your work permit. I guess you have an Extension of Stay based on working inside Thailand, a big stamp from your local Immigration Office and doing 90 days reports OR do you leave Thailand every 90 days to activate a new 90 day period or to apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa?

Then you can get the list of requirements needed and apply during the last 45 days of your permitted up to stay for a new 1 year Extension of Stay based on being married with a Thai National.
