Do I need to transfer my visa entry stamp to my new passport while exiting Thailand?

Hi, just looking for an up to date confirmation.

Currently on the last (extra-13-15th month) 90 days entry until 8 Feb 2025 of a one-year Multiple Entry Non-Imm 'O' visa obtained from Savannakhet .

Had to apply for a new passport as existing passport with above stamp expires in June 2025 (less than 6 months validity to use it for an entry after 8 Feb 2025 and not enough pages left). Received new passport today.

Do I need to go to my local Immigration office to transfer the entry stamp to 8 Feb 2025 to my new passport, or can I just exit Thailand with both old and new passports on or around 8 Feb 2025? Also, I would hope to be returning a few days later. Will I again need both passports, or just the new one?

Thanks for your assistance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The entry stamp from your old passport cannot be transferred to your new passport. You can leave Thailand with both passports when you exit on or around 8 Feb 2025, and upon re-entry, you will only need your new passport. If you plan to apply for a 60-day extension later, you will need to present both passports to the local immigration office.

The entry stamp cannot be transferred. No need to go to the local immigration office regarding your new passport. You just leave Thailand with both passports. Then you don't need the old passport to enter Thailand after. You need only the new passport.

Unnecessary additional info.

If you want to apply for a 60-day Thai family visit extension at the end of the current stamp, you bring both passports to the local office. They will put a 60-day extension stamp on your new passport referring to the entry stamp in the old one. After this, you don't need an old passport to leave. (still a good idea to bring both to leave in case)
