I currently hold a Non-Immigrant O Marriage Visa. I will be traveling to Germany soon, where I will need to obtain a new passport. My current passport will likely be stamped as invalid.

What steps do I need to take to ensure I can re-enter Thailand and transfer my visa to the new passport upon my return?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To ensure a smooth re-entry into Thailand and transfer your Non-Immigrant O Marriage Visa to your new passport, follow these steps: 1) Carry both your old and new passports when returning to Thailand, ensuring the old passport contains the visa or extension stamps. 2) Obtain a re-entry stamp before you leave Thailand to keep your visa valid. 3) Upon return, visit the local immigration office within 7 days to transfer the extension of stay or visa stamp to your new passport. If you have an extension of stay stamped in your old passport, confirm it is transferrable to the new passport.

if anyone has an ink stamp Extension of Stay from their local Thai Immigration Office, then that Extension ink stamp is transferrable to a New Passport

but, generally the LTR Visa Office (BOI) has an infographic about the 3 types of Thai Visas one may have in their passport

Turns out the OP actually has an extension of stay and NOT a VISA, so OP, when you come back, go to immigration to get your extension transferred.

sorry to ask again. So far after following all answers I concluded that I will not get the visa transferred but just keep the old passport. Sorry but a bit confusing answers in the end

Make sure you get a re entry stamp as if you leave without one then your visa will be void

I have the visa and re entry permit. I just wonder about any issues entering with when the old passport with the visa has some mark as invalid. And also how to switch the visa to the new passport?

@Daniel ********
take both passports. No problem.

If you truly have a visa, that is not transferred and you carry both passports.

should get a stamp like this into the old passport when you get your new one from the authorities in Germany, carry and show both passports with you. then go to the immigration here and get them transferred to the new passport

@Lloyd *******

@Jakob ********
No you don't, visas are not transferred, you carry both passports.

@Lloyd *******
well, mine got transferred at the Pathum Thani immigration, when I got there, just saying what happens to me
Lloyd ********
@Jakob ********
No you didn't, you got an extension of stay transferred, that is totally different to a visa!

@Lloyd *******
And re-entry permit ?
Lloyd ********
If you have a single entry visa and want to maintain it then yes you would need a re-entry permit. If you (just possible), have a multi-entry visa then you would not need a re-entry permit.
