Hello Everyone. I am on a category O (dependent) visa, me and my wife both hold Indian passport. Recently I have been offered a job at a school. I understand that I need to change my visa category from O to B in order to obtain a teaching license.

My concern is, can I change my visa here itself in Thailand or do I have to fly back to my home country to change it.🤔

Thanks in advance !

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Category O (dependent) visa and has been offered a job at a school. They are inquiring whether they can change their visa to Category B (work visa) while still in Thailand or if they need to return to India for the change. The responses indicate differing opinions, with one confirming that a change can happen within Thailand, while another suggests that employment on a dependent visa is not permitted and a trip home may be required.

I’m afraid no work is allowed on a dependent visa. I’m quite sure you’ll have to make a trip home.
