Thanks to the moderastors and others for the advice on the 90 day reporting procedures. Before travelling to Australia on 12 Nov, I was due for my 90 day report on 29 Dec. I arrived back on 19 Nov and after checking the 90 day reporting page, I reset my counter and it is now due in Feb. Saves me a trip to the Immigration Office. Thanks again.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat shares their experience of the 90-day reporting procedure after traveling to Australia. They reset their reporting count upon return, avoiding an unnecessary trip to the Immigration Office. Other users provided clarification on the counting of days and inquired about notifying immigration upon arrival.

Did you have to report to your local immigration office to inform them of your arrival back in Thailand

TM30 lodged the day after I arrived back

The law is clear, you file a new TM30 when you come in from abroad (and bouncing out and in counts as abroad) BUT in reality that's between you and your immigration office,

Sorry, we're not gonna have this thread turn into a TM30 question thread. :/

(y) your next 90 day report is due 89 days from the date you stamped in (they count the day you stamp in as day ONE)

SO if you arrived on the 19th your 90 day report is due on Feb 16th ;)
