Do I need to submit a new TM30 upon returning to Thailand after a vacation, and how do I handle my 90-day report?

Hi,

First question. if I leave Thailand for a 2 week vacation in Vietnam, I will need to do a new TM30 within 24 hours of returning even though I’m going back to my wife’s house where I live? Secondly,

my next 90 day report is due when I plan to be away. Do I just have to calculate the 90 days from when I return and report then?

Sorry if these questions seem lame, obvious, but I haven’t been out of Thailand since before covid days, I know things change constantly.

Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
When returning to Thailand from abroad, you will need to submit a new TM30 form within 24 hours, even if returning to the same residence. Your 90-day reporting requirement resets upon reentry, meaning you will report 90 days from your arrival date, which is counted starting from the day you enter Thailand.

I’ve got the answer from the oracle that is Tod Daniels so I’m going to turn off comments but leave the post in case it helps anyone else.

Within 24h of your return you (your landlord) has to submit à TM30.

Your next 90 report is due the date you enter Thaïland (see your stamp in passeport).

90 days means: first day is arriving date!

These questions come up quite a bit and are not lame or obvious

We are seeing more and more offices require a new TM30 when you come in from abroad,

Sadly what that means the answer is; check with your immigration office and see what they say. 😕

Your 90 day report "count down clock" stops when you leave the country before your next report date and when you come back your 90 day report will be due 89 days from the date you stamp in to thailand (the day you stamp in no matter the time is day one 🙂 )
