For those with the retirement O visa, I've read that the applicant can apply from within Thailand while on a tourist visa. True?

Can one also do it while in Thailand on a 60-day visa, which I believe is technically different from a tourist visa.

Also, if that 60-day Visa was obtained recently from an ”agent border run", the ones that take you in a van from Thailand and bring you back to Thailand with a 60-day stamp on the same day, has anyone successfully applied for the retirement visa path with this in their passport?... Because I have two back to back in my passport already.

If it makes any difference, I've also had two past retirement visas. At least one of them in the current passport
Answer summary
Yes, it is possible to apply for a Non-O retirement visa from within Thailand while on a tourist visa or a 60-day visa. Applicants must have at least 15-21 days left on their current visa and must meet financial requirements, such as having 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account or an income affidavit showing a monthly income of 65,000 THB. Some immigration offices may have additional requirements or process limitations, so it's advisable to confirm local procedures.

60 day is visa exempt. Not a visa.

Can I apply for a Non-O if I'm in the country on an METV or do I have to wait until it expires? Or do I need to leave the country completely? If so, can I apply from a neighbouring country or do I have to go home first? I've tried to find the best way to do this but the information I've read isn't clear. Thank you. 🙏

I am confused! You have two retirement visas already - one in the current passport? Why are you trolling this group then?

The prerequisite is that you first need to have a bank account and 800K in savings.

Yes you can apply for a 90 day Non-O visa based on being over 50 from either a visa exempt entry or a tourist visa. You need to have at least 15 days left on your current stamp and a Thai bank account with a minimum of 800k baht in it, some immigration offices require that 800k to come from abroad.

You can apply for a Non-O retirement visa on a 60-day tourist visa or 60-day visa exemption with a TM.86 or TM.87 form if you have at least 15-21 days left on your current stamp. You'll need to prove 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account or an income affidavit from your embassy showing 65,000 THB monthly income. Note that Jomtien and Krabi immigration require 2 months seasoning.
