Hey everyone, I recently applied for the dtv visa and I got approved. Now I need to apply for my spouse, my question is do I need to provide financial proof for her that she has 500,000 baht?

If yes, would my personal bank account work if I have 1m baht and I write a letter sponsoring her fully for any financial needs? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has received approval for their DTV visa and is inquiring about the process for applying for their spouse's visa, specifically regarding the necessity of providing financial proof of 500,000 baht. Comments suggest that acceptance of such proof varies by embassy. It is also noted that the individual can write a sponsorship letter to support their spouse financially, although issues regarding whether the bank account is personal or joint may influence how the funds are perceived by immigration authorities.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

You seem a bit all over the place on this bank account on different posts across different groups. Is it a personal bank account or is it a joint bank account? If the latter the MFA and Thai immigration will view it as half the money in the account being yours and half the other account holder. Nonetheless I believe all you need is a sponsorship letter from you saying you are responsible for your wife's expenses

It was my personal account when I applied for my dtv visa. Now I changed to a joint account with my wife’s. I have more than 1 million baht. If they will view it as half for me and half for her then I should be good? Also I will definitely include a sponsorship letter regardless. Thanks for you input.

Some embassies accept that, and some don't.
