Hey Everyone!

Hope you are all having a great December!

I am wondering what peoples experiences have been when it comes to extending the DTV visa at the 6 month mark. I am mainly wondering if they are requesting proof of finances (the 500,000thb), like the did in my initial application.

I want to make sure I've got everything in order before I go in. I've read mixed information online but find this group has the most reliable information ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks in advance for any help / advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on extending their DTV visa at the six-month mark, specifically wondering if proof of finances (500,000 THB) is required again. Comments indicate that proof is typically required for 30 days prior to the application. There are mixed experiences shared, with some suggesting it's easier to exit and re-enter Thailand to obtain a new stamp rather than extending in-country due to varying local office policies.

Do yourself a BIG FAVOR...

leave Thailand and reenter to get your new 180 day stamp.

Yes, you need. And documents why you extend. Off course documents from rent/own condo also.

Maybe easier for you to go out and come back next day with a guarantee entry service.

If it helps, I run a Digital marketing agency (UK registered while living here in Bangkok, Asok).

We are weighing up a boarder run or an extension at the immigration office

Well some offices just donโ€™t want to extend in country

Others make it so painful you donโ€™t want to extend in country

So itโ€™s easier to just do a border bounce

Good luck

Yes, it is required.

Yes, proof of 500k required for 30 days before application. These were part of guidelines sent out by Immigration HQ to local offices just prior to the first 6 months of DTV in place.

It depends on the purpose you applied for and got the visa issued.

It is not all the same as some people might think,

for example the list of requirements for the purpose Workcation.

I don't see any unexpected things, just the normal requirements with additional TM47 which seems logical
