TLDR : Answer Summary
With a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand, you are eligible for one 30-day extension. If you perform a border run and return, the length of stay you receive depends on your nationality. Nationals from countries eligible for visa-exempt entry can be stamped for 45 days if entering before April 1st, or 30 days if entering on or after that date, with the possibility of one additional 30-day extension.

A 60 tourist visa entry is eligible for one 30 day extension.

If you leave and re-enter the country and you're from a country that can receive visa exempt entry, then you'll be stamped in for 45 days if you enter before April 1st, or 30 days if you enter April 1st or later. This is also eligible for one 30 day extension.

Ask the embassy might be helpful

Myanmar land borders are closed. Your friend cannot go to Myanmar.

I can't tell you how many days unless I know what passport they have.

the Myanmar borders are open to locals, but not to foreigners. He can fly in, as long as he has absolutely no association with anything that could be interpreted by their immigration as journalism, which includes YouTube posting, etc.

If he's still calling it "Burma" he's probably looking at outdated news, as it hasn't been "Burma" since 1989! 🤣

then what I said in my original post is accurate. 45 days on re-entry if arriving before April 1st or 30 days after.

Myanmar land borders have been closed to foreigners for almost 3 years. They are open to Thai and Myanmar citizens.
