Do I need to keep 500,000 THB in my bank account for 3 months for my Thai visa application?

Question regarding the 500,000 THB. I have it but on my broker/investments account (so technically it’s not a bank account). It is not invested so it was liquid at all times. Would that work?

UPD: the answer is no, so I just transferred it to my bank account, would that be enough if im applying in 2 weeks or it has to be there for 3 month?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirements for the 500,000 THB minimum in a bank account for a Thai visa vary by embassy and seem to necessitate having the funds in a personal bank account. While some users reported success with shorter durations, the general consensus is that to avoid complications, it is advisable to maintain the funds for at least 3 months in your account before applying.

3 months, because people were abusing it and would transfer money in that they didnt have and out once they got the visa.

it's not really abuse and more of a loophole. Not many people just have $15k sat in their accounts. Especially younger people in which the DTV is aimed at.

Has to be in a personal bank account. The 3 months is a requirement. But at the moment it depends on where you apply and that embassies policy.

In my case they even wanted see money comes in payments and because of a job. The amount was not enough. Had to show my company and private bank account.

How long the funds need to season is directly dependent on the embassy/consulate you'll be applying through. You can use the group search tool with that embassies name and see what their seasoning requirements are.

thanks, the “sometimes” is basically up for the person reviewing / specific embassy to decide? I just transferred it to my bank account but planning to apply in 2 weeks.

Anonymous participant It will vary depending on the embassy or consulate you apply to. Some ask for up to 6 months worth of statements.
