A copy of a recent saving or checking bank statement for the last three months with an ending balance of no less than 500,000 THB or ($16,000 USD)

Is this just to see if youve had a bank account for 3 months, OR, Do u need to have $16K in the account for 3 months.

Can somebody please verify? This could put off my trip for a while. Im in the USA btw....😕

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement is to provide a bank statement showing a minimum balance of 500,000 THB (about $16,000 USD) for at least the last three months. This is to demonstrate financial stability and that the funds have been maintained over time, rather than borrowed temporarily. Some users mentioned that having a substantial amount of money circulating through the account prior to the application may suffice. It's suggested to verify specific requirements with the embassy, as practices can vary.

I did not have the money in my account for 3 months and was approved but I went to the bank and got them to provide the proof of my available balance (Capital One). Their paperwork shows how much money has been through your account that year. My showed $75,000 but my balance had been under 1,000 for the past few months . I say all that to say if you have had a certain amount circulating through your account and show through that type of statement, you should be ok. I applied in NYC.

Meet the requirements in full for at least as long as described, or you risk rejection, and loss of the 10.000+ Baht visa fee.

I think it may depend on the embassy you apply with. I was approved, and for proof of income i just submitted a Transaction page showing the deposits into my Savings account for the last 4 Months. And it wasnt untill a week before i submitted the Visa Application was there more then $16,000 in my bank account.

what country?

Contact your embassy to verify with them, if they just need the balance at the time of application along with the statements, or if they want to see a consistent balance for all 3 months.

For most of the US embassies, it's almost impossible to get them on the phone. The best way is actually through Facebook messenger, believe it or not.

Very frustrating as it puts my trip off till winter...and visa free entry is trying to change to 30 days...if it hasnt already.

I wanted to get DTV in the US before leaving, but looks like i might have to do it the hard way in another country. Any suggestions??

Three months with ending balance not less then 500k. Not just bank account

Owning a bank account isn't something that anyone cares about. Everyone has bank accounts.

They want to see that you've had 500k in an account, in your name, for at least 3 months.

The length of time is an indicator that you actually have that kind of money and not for example borrowed it for a few days and then returning it.
