Is it true that you need to have 500k in your bank account for 3 months before applying for a Thai visa?

Cause I got the money arranged two days before submitting my application. I just don't understand why people cant spend *****

In Vientiane last Dec ....i loaded money up to 523,000b 2 days before i headed off to Vientiane...thursday i think .. interveiw was 9.30 monday .... received my visa on wednesday afternoon ...54 hrs later ...Thats me 🙂
