Hi, does anyone know if I need to have my own separate 500K baht in my bank account if I apply under my husbands DTV visa? Thanks
Answer summary
When applying for a DTV visa under your husband's name, it appears that you do not necessarily need to have a separate 500K baht in your own account. Many commenters suggest that the 500K can be in your husband's account, particularly if you include a sponsorship letter. However, it is commonly advised that a total of at least 1 million baht should be shown to meet the requirements for both applicants. Some community members emphasize the importance of proper documentation and suggest consulting local agents for assistance.

It can be his bank account, but most Embassies will be looking for 1 million baht to cover both of you. You might be lucky, but that is my experience when applying for my daughter.
Happy to introduce you to a great local Samui agent who specializes in DTV and also generously donates part of their fees to the Samui Surf Lifesaving club (to help local Kids to learn to swim in the ocean). I can send you their details
tell your husband to give a sponsor letter. that sorts the issue. please connect with us if you can use agency service. we will do the proper documentation and ensure you get the visa.
Speaking from experience, no, it can be in his bank account, but with a sponsorship letter attached as well. As for the amount, since you’re 2 separate people, it should be no less than 1M THB.
