Okay I have a major issue and question. I'm a DTV holder and tried sponsoring my husband with my bank account as main source because he's retired and receives retirement but because the account in his name is with Wise (which we know they don't except) which why we submitted mine and all info requested with cover note explanation and sponsor letter but was rejected with no explanation . Any advice on what we should next other than regroup our mental state because we been from Vietnam to Malaysia waiting on status for over 40 days, which we were informed that leaving HCMC where we submitted application thru the visa portal wasn't an issue while waiting just couldn't be in Thailand. Any advice is definitely appreciated. No criticism just advice please thank you.
Answer summary
The user, a DTV visa holder, faced rejection when trying to sponsor their retired husband due to using a bank account not recognized by the visa authority. Despite providing a sponsorship letter and required documents, the application was rejected, possibly because they left Vietnam during the processing period. Comments suggest that remaining in the application country until approval is crucial, and that the retired husband may need to qualify independently for a retirement visa. The conversation emphasizes the importance of following consulate guidelines and maintaining adequate financial proof.

Thanks to the ones that actually read my request and gave helpful information. But for people that choose to be ugly and with the unnecessary criticism is why people hesitate to utilize the group for what it should be meant for. Have a nice Day everyone! Got it handled!!!

Yes they ask to upload all pages of his passport along with current location which was Malaysia at the time even though we were in Vietnam when applied and had been for 2wks before any movement on application and them requesting that information.

There you go then, you need to stay in the Country you applied until the visa is issued

The fact you both left the country where you applied is enough for the application to be rejected. You need to remain in a place covered by the consulate you apply through until the process completes. Wise is accepted at some consulates but given you didn't use that did you supply a sponsorship letter and have over 1 million baht in your account to show?

Why are people dumb enough to use anything AI based when it hoovers up all data correct or incorrect. The embassy website has the answers...

Mark Taylor it will take a while for the average folk to understand (learn) that AI stands for "artificial", like "not real", kind of like the artificial sweetener that replaces real sugar. It is a learning curve and as such, a painful one. I remember Google glasses, smart watches, personal digital assistant PDAs, and similar gadgets. We'll grow past all those trinkets, even AI and all of its nonsense.

yes to all, and I'm thinking that the leaving Vietnam while waiting was the issue. So much for research using AI, because knew we couldn't be in Thailand

Did the sponsor account have the equivalent of 1 million baht? There is absolutely no need to muddy the waters with your husbands financial history, it's irrelevant. Did the embassy in Vietnam ask to see all the pages of his passport, and was the Malaysian entry stamp/visa in there as well? Vietnam is very picky about your current location. Some other embassies not so much but usually people get clarification and approval from the overseeing embassy before leaving the country. So who told you that you could leave?

Pretty sure he’ll need his own 500k

It might be since your husband is retired, they want him to qualify on his own for a retirement visa instead of you trying to qualify him on your DTV.

You must stay in the country where you submitted the application until it is approved, not just avoid Thailand.
