Do I need to fix my visa situation at Immigration if I leave Thailand a day late?

ORIGINAL POSTER
Came to Pattaya on a 30 day visa. 10 days left. I screwed up on my airflights and when I leave BKK on May 23 it will be 31 days. Do I need to get this fixed at Immigration in Jomtien? Other thoughts?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster mistakenly believed they had a 30-day visa but was reassured by multiple commenters that they likely received a 60-day visa exemption on arrival. As such, there is no need to address any issues with immigration regarding overstaying by one day, and many commenters confirmed they had received a 60-day stamp upon entry. The OP eventually confirmed their stamp was for 60 days, alleviating any concerns about their visa status.
Frankie *********
I just got here 2 weeks ago. Everything I heard and read was they changed it to 30 day but my stamp is 60 days I have to leave by June 29th so it is 60 days
Marc *****************
I stayed an extra day by accident one time.

They didn’t do anything. No stamp or fine

Returned back after 3 months no problem.
Dave *******
Can’t believe people still think it’s 30 days not 60 days 🫣🤣
Stephen ********
@Dave ******
I can't believe people still call it a visa 🤣🤣🤣
Thaimer ******
There’s no such thing as 30 days visa
Jeff *************
If you are from the US you get 60
Patrick ********

Ben *******
When I came they gave me 60 days..didn't need to ask..just came with entry
Keith *******
Check your stamp date and if necessary speak ro immigration otherwise this may cause you problems in the future.

@Robert ********
XXX for confirming! 🙂

Seriously 😂
Jeremy ********
It depends the I/O’s are lenient if you stamp out from 0000-0100 hours because they understand lines and waiting at bkk/dmk…now if it’s past that then you should get an extension
Phil ******
@Jeremy *******
but he has 60 days

@Phil *****
I can only go off what is written…zero interpretations by me at all
Tony *******
What passport are you on?
Nongnuch ********
it's now dark night in Thailand, let's wait until the sun rises in Pattaya and Robert Johnson will confirm that he got stamped in for 60 days. If NOT, he would be the second person in this FB group within 24 hours, who got stamped in wrongly and we strongly suspect that there is a rookie sitting in one of the Immigration boxes at the airport
Mark *******
Rookies should be supervised in any profession! Endex!
Gurdavar ********
The 60 day visa exemption will be reduced to 30 days as it was last year.

If it's only a day, plan for 500 baht in your back pocket if they fine you.

Don't worry, you will be fine!
Gurdavar ********
Phil, this is Thailand.

We can recall the toing froing ting tong situation last year when I was caught out twice because the changes had not happened despite dates being given.

I don't run that department but would not be surprised that a change will occur after May.

I'm sorry there is no definitive answer as much gossip occurs before the government actually implements what it will.
Mark *******
And IF it ever is!
Phil ******
@Gurdavar *******
when will it be changed?
Nongnuch ********
@Gurdavar *******
wrong info . . there has been no change. You still get a 60-days stay permit upon entering visa-exempt
Gurdavar ********
@Nongnuch *******
the change will occur this month as I have heard
Phil ******
@Gurdavar *******
wrong post the government source
Andrew ***********
@Gurdavar *******
haha and who did you hear that from
Mark *******
Hogwash Gurdavar! Stop listening to bullshit!
Nongnuch ********
@Gurdavar *******
whowever told you this is not to be trusted. There is a lot of talk but NOTHING has been confirmed by the government, yet
Gurdavar ********
@Nongnuch *******
and Mark Avery

This is about Robert's journey.

It's best if he finds out himself what his risks are.

Not Facebook opinions that are useless because they are not Robert Johnson.

There is a lot of talk and the authority is usually late implementing change in my experience of the last year.

So I stand by the advice that if at all, there will be a fine at most.

Your comments of who is right and who is wrong do not help a person who is genuinely concerned of what could happen.

Good luck Robert Johnson!
Mark *******
I agree what you stated about Facebook opinions,including yours! 😂 Hence he should contact the relevant authorities which I've always advocated! And yes best of luck Robert! Thailand is beautiful!
Nongnuch ********
@Gurdavar *******
Robert will get stamped in for 60 days. You better worry about your bread dough going up double the size . .
Mark *******
Talk is cheap!
Kevin *********
They didn't charge me for the extra day
Ziggy ********
Jonathan ******
Have we found the stamp on the passport yet? Surely it's a 60 day er
Steve *******
Start by looking in your passport to see when your last stamped date is.
Phil ******
@Robert ********
no such thing as 30-day visa. TOURIST VISA IS 60 DAYS and you apply on the evisa website outside of Thailand. Did you do this this?

Visa Exempt is when your stamped in without a visa for 60-days too.

So which one did you do ? Look at your stamp and you will have a validity until ????. Please advise and don't worry
Graeme ******
If you flew in on visa exempt then you will have been stamped in for 60 days not 30 so no need to do anything, just check your visa stamp.in your passport it should confirm 60days
Fiona *********
You get 60 days on arrival. So you don't need to worry.
Steve **********
You can go to immigration and spend 1900 baht for an extension or pay one day overstay at the airport for 500. Lots of times they won't charge you if you're just a day late.
Wilfried ********
@Steve *********
yes this i also do
Richie *******
@Steve *********
he don't need to.he would have got 60 days
Brandon ************
There's no such thing as a 30 day visa. There's no such thing as 30 day visa exempt since July 2024. Have you actually looked in your passport to see what entry stamp you have? It should be a 60 day stamp.
