Hi I have a question with a DTV do u have to do a 90day report to immigration office because my passport was stamped for 6 months???
Answer summary
Yes, regardless of your 6-month stamp, if you are on a DTV visa and spend 90 days in Thailand, you must report to immigration. The first report should be done in person, while subsequent reports can be submitted online. If you plan to stay for a full 180 days, you'll need to report at the 90-day mark, and upon leaving and returning, the process continues.

I never did it once... 6 months is a tourist visa entry and exit. Once you leave and come back in it resets. Just like you would if you left 30 days. The 90 day report isnt even a report. Theyre basically doing a police check on you. Which doesn't get documented. I've been coming in and out of Thailand for 10 years now. The 90 day report is nonsense.Feel free to disagree with me but my 10 year history says otherwise. And not one person in this group has ever reported being fined unless they told on themselves.

That you did not get checked and not got fined does not say others did not get fined.

In this group more than once a fine is reported, just like in other groups.

Just like you I think the 90 day report is useless, but unlike you, I respect the rules, and I certainly won’t go around inciting others against Thai regulations.

it's only those that need to go to immigration for other purposes (extending their stay, for example) that get caught and fined.

the 90 day report is not a money grab. It doesn't cost a single Baht, you 🤡!

Free to go... Not free to get there... Takes a whole day. Complete nonsense. Just leave and come back in after your 6 months.

If you book a time slot online, it doesn't take the whole day.

If you plan to stay the max of 180 days you'll have to report only once on the 90th day. After that you have to leave and the process repeats when you return to Thailand again. If yo ever extend your stay (which isn't recommended) then you'll have to report on the 90th, 180th and 270th days respectively. The first reporting of every cycle must be done in person. The others (if applicable) can be done online.

TheBatman1234567890 You have to report only once when you stay 180 days in case your first report is not done before day 90, because when you do so the second will be needed before day 180, but can be done online then.

TheBatman1234567890 it doesn't have to be in person the first time, you can also send the TM47 and Passport copies per registred Post mail to the immigration in the province of your residence.

You're 180-day stamp has nothing to do with 90-day reporting. Yes you must report every 90 days to immigration showing your updated TM 30. If you live close to an immigration office it is always best to do it in person as opposed to doing it online.

there is no payments to do the 90-day report.

The tourist visa may allow you to enter during 6 months but it doesn't give you 6 months entry? Typically 30 days so you have to leave and come back...

Now that nine today report really should be abolished is another issue. I live here 5 years and it never freaking worked a single time! They always have some excuse when I go there about nobody can tell me why it didn't work this time....

What utter nonsense. A 90 day report is required if you stay in Thailand for 90 days. The fact that you never complied is irrelevant. After being in Thailand for 10 years you would have thought you’d understand the actual laws.

How can it be a money grab when 90 day reporting is free?

you should have more respect for Thai laws if you want to be here. I bet you complain about people that break the rules in your home country.

Whose stupid? The one giving away their money because they were told to do something, like a parrot... ? Or the guy actually treating their DTV like an actual Tourist visa. Leaving in 6 months?

Theres NOBODY who got fined... ZERO... Unless they told on themselves. Do a search for it... It doesnt exist.

People live in fear... like a bunch of lemmings. The report isnt even a report... is a police search. That you pay for... nothing comes back.. They dont stanmp your passport.. you get a receipt.. they mise well write the word dummy on it... Your free to go.. just leave in another 3 months. Thats it.

Please stop making yourself look stupid. The OP asked if they need to do a 90 day report and the legal answer is yes if they stay for 90 days. The fact that you illegally got away with not reporting is irrelevant.

And yes many people do get fined for not reporting. If they need interaction with immigration for something and they haven’t reported they are fined. If you don’t need interaction then you can possibly get away with it but that doesn’t make it the correct answer.

You can disagree all you want .. But the fact remains. My record is 100 percent clean.

And nobody here has ever got fined for it unless they told on themselves.

You literally said nothing btw. And it's not 90 days... it's 6 months. Stay longer than 6 months then they have to tax you. Which is why they make you leave. So there's no legal liability.
