THIS IS FOR BANGKOK

Hi everyone:

I just did my first, in person, 90 day reporting and wanted to share the experience in case anyone is thinking about doing it. I first contacted Thai Visa Centre, due to everyone raving about their services. Thai Visa Centre told me they would process my 90-day report through another immigration office and under their address. I chose not to use that option because I wanted my report associated with my own address and TM.30. Unless you can find an agent that uses your address and TM 30, then the process is painless.

First, don’t go there and wait all day.

Unless you are too close to your 90 days (check anyways), make an appointment.

Here is the website:

[members only]/

Chose your date and time. I wouldn’t go early morning bc a grab/bolt will be expensive due to traffic. I live by icon Siam and my grab was 220 plus 50 baht for highway tolls. My appointment was at 1:20. It was about a 45 minute drive.

When you go in, show security your appointment and they will tell you to go through security. It is on the 3rd floor

I got there at 12:10, had lunch, waited for the office to open (they close for lunch). I did not wait in the line, but went in, walked up to the one of the first two counters, showed him all my paperwork and appointment confirmation and he gave me a card showing my appointment time and told me to sit. At 1:20, counter 7 called me and I gave her all my paperwork, organized. Here were all the docs (it might be overkill, but best to be prepared)

Original passport

Appointment printout

TM 47 filled out neatly in blue ink

TM 30

Visa

TDAC confirmation from last arrival

Passport bio page photo

Last DTV entry stamp of passport

Lease

She took my docs. Typed up whatever and gave me the receipt.

It took 5 mins in front of the officer.

I took a grab back into the city, 200 baht.

So, for the same price or slightly a little more and 3 hours of my time (I got there too early. It would have only been 2 hours), getting there, waiting and coming back I have a 90 day reporting with my actual address. This helps if you need to obtain a Residence Certificate (some people need this. My bank, Krugthai, asked me for it)

I understand some people don’t want to do this (as long as you understand it is not your address that some agents are reporting) or don’t have an address bc they move around a lot, then an agent is your best bet.

Just thought I’d share bc I know how anxious one can get when they don’t necessarily know what they are doing. Most important thing is to make your appointment a month or two away from when your 90 day reporting is due.

Also, if you’re still confused or anxious, you can ask chat gpt to give you step by step instructions including the website, how to properly fill out the TM 47 and even what name of the building to put in grab/bolt (Immigration Division 1).
Answer summary
The post recounts a personal experience regarding the 90-day reporting process for expats in Bangkok. It emphasizes making an appointment in advance via the official immigration website, the necessary documents required for submission (TM 30, TM 47, passport, and others), and tips for avoiding long wait times. The author notes that they chose to report in person instead of using an agent to ensure the report was associated with their own address. The comments provide additional insights, experiences, and opinions on using agents versus reporting in person.

Coming up on filing - this is timely and very helpful - after reading this last night I went online and made an appointment - did not know I could do that - booked for Friday this week. Will report back on how it goes.... Thanks

OP
My advice is to get there an hour before your appointment so you give yourself ample time to navigate around the building. Even with instructions, it may still be confusing. Make sure you fill out your TM 47 before hand and take a blue pen with you, just in case. If you get there early, there is food and shopping on the ground floor. If you are on DTV visa, this is something you’re gonna have to do all the time in person. remember, with this visa, we have to do our 90 day reporting in person and leave at the six month mark (I believe you can extend in person once per year for the six months, but I have never done this so I am not sure )Once you’ve done it one time I’m going to assume the next times you do it will be a breeze. Good luck.

I got it 4 years ago when I was here on a ED visa. I have to show residency to keep it open. From what I hear, it is almost impossible to open one now on a DTV.

I used to live walking distance to the IO (0 baht transport cost) and by the time i reached the stairs to the 2nd floor they already called me for the 90 day reporting … processed in 30 seconds with a smile. Same the TM30 when I moved into my own condo.

I always deal with an agent so I dont have to waste a couple hrs in immigration. That's worth triple

Does your agent report your home address or their address?

StunningElk8340 They can't use your address because they don't apply from where you are. People use agent for 90 days report to save time, there is no underlying reason. And it doesn't matter from where the agent apply. It doesn't negatively impact anything.

That’s why the receipt says notify your address again.

StunningElk8340 the point is to report that you’re still in the country.

OP
How is this properly doing a 90 day reporting then? Isn’t the point of the 90 day reporting to report your address?
