Why was my online 90-day reporting rejected when I was told I could do it online after my initial report?

90 day reporting

I went to CW immigration on 3rd Jan for my first 90 day reporting. My understanding was I could then do all 90 reporting online, which I did yesterday. However this has been rejected saying I have to go in person, any idea why it’s saying that?

I’ve not been out of Thailand since I arrived on 3rd November 2024.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user attempted to complete their 90-day reporting online after initially reporting in person on January 3rd. However, their online submission was rejected, leading to confusion regarding the process. Comments clarify that the first 90-day report must be done in person and that online reporting is only allowed within a specific timeframe, which they missed. The user is advised on the rules and potential fines for late reporting.

First report has to be done in person

Online you need to do it between 14 and 10 days before the date now.

Meaning you had to do it between the 19th and 23rd of March.

, online reporting window is between 15 days and 7 days before the due date

Even if one were to assume it wasn't your first report you are outside the window to report online so it would have been rejected in any case

I am reasonably sure that ‘Online Reporting’ has to be done before the 90 day due date.

The 7 days after is for personal appearances only.

10 to 14 days before now for the online application to be accepted.

there was a lost in translation when they got their first extension of stay back in Jan. That STARTED the 90 day count down clock running down and they were given a paper saying when their first 90 day report would be due. Seeing as you have to do the first one in person they were rejected

now they go today (the last day they can file in person without a 2000baht fine)

OR

they go when ever they want to go and when they do file a 90 day report they'll get the 2000baht fine

1st time personal appointment is required

I don't think you went on Jan 3rd for your first 90 day report I think you went on that date and got a year "Extension of stay" and were given that paper saying when your 90 day reporting would START on this extension
Tod *********
That "First Time in person" rule is also the INITIAL 90 day report <- that paper you have in your passport shows you just got an extension and that started the 90 day count down clock running

Your 90 day report was due 2 April and you have until today to file it in person

OR

you're going to pull a 2000baht fine when you go to file (because the "window of opportunity" to apply in person is from 2 weeks before until 1 week after the due date <- which is today April 9th in your case 😮 )

ok thanks for that, it’s all very confusing, I did get an extension but I also went separately to do the 90 day reporting in person but they said I already done it on 3rd Jan and to do again on 2nd April. Which in my mind would have been my second one 🤷‍♂️ no chance of getting there today and I’m guessing they will be closed soon for holidays

they just told you that at the 90 day window rather than explain that the first extension doesn't actually file any 90 day report. 😮

All it does is START the day count down for the FIRST report you do <- which has to be in person

You got until today to file in person and not get a 2000baht fine.

BUT

the good news is whether you go tomorrow or after they reopen from the holidays, even next month or in 3 months the fine doesn't go up. It's 2000baht, so just go do the report when you can be and ready to pay the 2000baht fine.

Another bit of good news is once you do this one you can apply online

it won't be due again 🙁it's due TODAY at the latest.

You miss it and you go when you wanna go, and when you do that will be your FIRST 90 day report 🙂
