TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about switching from a Non-ED 90-day visa to a DTV visa at the Vientiane embassy and whether they need to cancel their current Non-ED visa. Responses indicate that if the user is on the original 90-day visa (not an extension), they can simply leave Thailand without needing to cancel the visa first. However, they are reminded to secure an appointment at the Vientiane embassy, as there may be limited slots available.

Vientiane embassy requires an appointment for everything, and there might not be any slots left for this month. Make absolutely sure you make an appointment there first before you end your current stamp.

As long as you are on the original 90 day visa and not an extension, you don't need to do anything except leave Thailand.
