Hello, I live in Thailand on marriage visa and I traveled back my home country two months ago and I am applying for Thai pass now to come to back to Bangkok on Test and Go program, I am confused about insurance, as I suppose to arrive on 11 March while my visa finish on 24th March, so shall I buy only insurance for one month or it must be 1 year because I'll renew my visa again for one year when I come back.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying to re-enter Thailand on a marriage visa via the Test and Go program, you only need to purchase health insurance for the duration of your stay as indicated on your entry stamp, which is one month in this case. While planning to renew your visa for a year upon your return, there is no requirement to have insurance for the full year before entering Thailand.

If youโ€™re going to renew your visa for one year, why would you contemplate getting insurance for only a month, the mind boggles ....

cause if I leave Thailand again for any reason this year, the insurance will be cancelled, so it will be waste of money

Immigration does not ask about the silly covid insurance, once you are in the country. So, get for one month only.

Youโ€™ll need insurance for entry for the length of time youโ€™re stamped in for. To extend your visa (extension) you do not need insurance.

Iโ€™m not saying youโ€™re wrong but my Thai Pass was approved with only 2 weeks of insurance. I came in on a 90 day Non-O. I think I got lucky and slipped through the cracks.

You need insurance for the duration of your stay, and that depends on your ticket. So you can buy a ticket with a return date within 1 month, with insurance of 1 month, while you are stamped in for 3 months based on the duration of your visa.

it's good idea if I'll leave Thailand after one month but I will not use the return ticket, as I am staying in Thailand, so if I buy 1 year insurance would be cheaper than return ticket in that case, but thanks for the idea ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

from what you say then yes. Iโ€™m not an expert on insurance requirements for entry so perhaps others can confirm.
