Hi I’m on non o Thai wife and is due in May. Last year we went for extension with our daughter.(born in thailand)

Here’s the question. Do we need to bring our daughter( 1year+ and doesn’t wear mask and active like a monkey) along for the extension or just me n my wife will do?

And what is the document that my wife need to retrieve from another government department to show to immigration that we are married.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is inquiring whether they need to bring their daughter for their NON-O visa extension in Thailand and what document their wife needs to retrieve to prove their marriage to immigration. Responses indicate that if the extension is based on parenting a half-Thai child, the daughter must be present; if based on marriage, only the wife needs to attend. To confirm their marital status, they should obtain the Kor Ror 2 document from the local Amphur office.

A bit confused now, my extension of stay is due to get prolonged end of May. Is this Kor Ror 2 document only needed if the couple married in Thailand? I was never asked for it during 7 years in Chiang Mai. We married in Germany and registered with the Thai embassy in Berlin, the relevant documents had to be translated by an authorized translator and that was it.

Did you ever register the marriage HERE in thailand? When thaiz are married abroad they register that marriage at the Amphur with a Kor Ror 22 (ค.ร. ๒๒)

As mentioned, we married in Germany and the marriage was registered at the Thai embassy in Berlin. The embassy passed the registration on to the District in Loei, where my wife’s address was registered at that time. I have lived in Chiang Mai for 6 years, extensions of stay based on marriage to a Thai national were granted every year. In the applications the translations of the German documents and the registration at the embassy were included each time, but we were never asked for the Kor Ror 22.

which does not mean that you will NEVER be asked. I'd say take your marriage documents and your thai wife to your local Amphur and get the marriage registered here so you DO have a Kor Ror 22. There's no down side to having it

Thanks! The variety of rules and their different interpretations always amaze me.

Some immigration offices require the Kor Ror 2, others don't need it.

You need to get the Kor Ror 2 document from the local Amphur in your area to show you're still married

In Thai it's (ค.ร. ๒) and looks like this

>Do we need to bring our daughter

That depends on the reason why you're getting the extension of stay. IF you getting an extension of stay based on raising half-Thai child, you'll need to bring your daughter. IF you're getting an extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national, you'll need to bring your wife.

>And what is the document that my wife need to retrieve from another government department to show to immigration that we are married

You'll need to go to the local Amphur office and ask for proof that you are still married.
