Sorry if this question has been asked before but I can't find any information regarding my query by searching on Google.
I was planning to apply for a non O visa as my husband is working in Thailand. I also have a job offer and I was told that a non O can be used to apply for work permit. Today the admin staff at my husband's workplace informed him that Indian nationals cannot use non O for work permit. Is there anyone who can confirm or deny this? I tried googling several search terms but I found nothing related to Indian nationals specifically. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) inquired about the ability to apply for a work permit in Thailand using a Non-O visa, as they are married to a foreigner working in the country. Comments clarified that holders of a Non-O visa, including Indian nationals, cannot obtain a work permit based on this visa type. Instead, they must apply for a Non-B visa, which is specifically designated for work in Thailand. Therefore, it is essential for Indian nationals to secure the appropriate visa before seeking employment.

As an Indian national you would need to go to a thai consulate in your country and get a Non-B visa using documentation from the company that offered you the job. .
AFAIK: IF you have a Non-O visa or extension based on being married to a foreigner who legally works here (with a B visa/work permit) you cannot legally get a work permit to work on that visa.
It has nothing to do with the nationality of the passport holder and everything to do with the fact that visa doesn't allow someone to work here.
thank you for your answer. I was told that it's possible since they did that for someone else as well. They are willing to send me the docs for a non B, we just discussed non O for the convenience of it. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
