TLDR : Answer Summary
Once you obtain a DTV visa in Thailand with the required documentation, including a letter from the Muay Thai camp and proof of funds, you generally do not need to provide this proof again for each 6-month extension. The initial approval is valid for 5 years, and re-entries do not require additional paperwork at this time. However, there is some uncertainty regarding future requirements, as immigration policies may change.

The answer: just prove first time and done!

After the DTV Visa approved, it valid for 5 years. Once you enter Thailand you have to countdown from 180,179 and you have to leave Thailand before or on the day count down to 1. if you reenter Thailand by the DTV without additional paper the countdown clock start again. Now you can continue extend after day 0 buy paying extension fee at immigration office (before day 1 of course - just before 20 days left- recommend)

This VID may helps

For re-entries currently nothing additional is required. For in country extensions nobody knows the cost or requirements as Immigration is silent on the subject. Despite repeated requests Immigration have not published any details.

i was told that i will have to re-provide all documents again in english or thai language. financial proof the most important. information from immigration officers. so not every office is silent about this.

and you don't mention the office that told you this?

Krabi Immigration… which is considered one of the best, easiest, fastest in thailand.

there is a lot of chatter at the Immigration offices but nothing officially published.

wake up. there wont be anything more official than your local immigration office telling you and proceeding with exactly that…its same with all other things, every province, every office will handle things differently. there wont be a nation wide announcement by the head of immigration. you can expect that in a few weeks the first few experiences will be posted here.

please provide the list of requirements for the DTV extension from your local immigration office. What? You can’t? They won’t give you list? Why not, they do for every other type of visa? Oh they say “sorry Mister, no have”. And that is the standard answer for every reported request. Unless of course you can link to the list of requirements.

@Pete ******
there is no list. not even for other things you do there… man i live in krabi. the immigration office is 2 small rooms with a bunch of seats… when the officers that always handle my visa things give me this information then i would consider that legit. its always the same 3 officers you deal with. it was even confirmed by the head off there. not everywhere in thailand is bureaucracy hell. what would a list from bangkok or chonburi help me? do you think officials act according to such guidelines? when most things go differently in every province/office. so i prefer believing the officials that would give me the actual stamp ;)

As it stands currently you don't need new paperwork or bank statements on extension or re entry.

There are lots of rumors that immigration are planning to move the goal posts and start requesting new courses.

I personally think that won't happen as it would be a massive betrayal. But no doubt visa agents and immigration are dissatisfied with the DTV so it suits them to spread these rumors and in reality we won't really know until someone extends in a few months time.

My gym is looking at ways to protect my customers from this unlikely turn of events ... not quIte sure how we will do it but will look at course extensions with additional paperwork for a small admin fee

i am beeing told by immigration officers, that for the extension i will have to hand over all documents as proof again. especially a fresh bank statement. for soft power you would most likely need a fresh course that isnt dated in the past.

if thats straight from an immigration officer then I guess it might happen.

I wonder if it's been handed to him by official channels or he's just decided by himself. Immigration always have that caveat behind then that the officers decision is final. That's why each time you go ot often different requirements

No one knows because DTV has not existed for 6 months yet. I would just leave after 180 and come back rather than deal with whatever headache immigration comes up with to extend. Originally they said it would cost another 10k baht and you could only do it once over 5 year period so it was clearly not something they were encouraging.

no one has done it yet thats right. a few more weeks and the first people might be able to extend. even the officer recommended the border run to me :D

the 10k fee and only once per 5 years was never an official statement. that was made up by people spreading misinformation

@Da ***
it is official 10k only once fee then 1900 to do extension

Just do a simple LAND BORDER BOUNCE to get a NEW 180 day stamp. Problem solved.
