Hello wise group. I have a query about renewal.

I have exited and reentered in the first 180 days of my DTV visa. If i continue to exit and re-enter within 180 days, do I also need to renew? Do I do this manually and pay additional fees or does the visa continue until 5 years is complete, with no additional fees or requirements?

I saw this online and it's confused me a little.

TIA!

You can extend your DTV once per visit for an additional 180 days.

* To extend your DTV, you must apply at the immigration headquarters in Bangkok and pay an extension fee.

* The extension fee is either the same as the original visa fee (10,000 THB) or the usual Thai visa extension fee (1,900 THB)

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you exit and re-enter Thailand on a DTV visa within 180 days, you will receive a new 180-day entry stamp for each re-entry without needing to renew your visa. However, if you want to extend your DTV visa for an additional 180 days during your stay, you must apply for an extension at the immigration office, which will incur an extension fee. There are no renewal processes for the DTV visa as it is valid for unlimited entries within its 5-year validity.

If you leave and re-enter you get a new 180 day stamp. There are no fees. The extension is obtained in country for an additional 180 days on top of the original 180. This is obtained at an Immigration Office and there is a fee

there is no renewal of anything AND at this time NO ONE (as in not a single person on the inter-web) knows how the "one 180 day extension per entry" will work

This is what we know;

You have a visa that is valid for unlimited entries during the 5 years it's good for

You get 180 days every time you stamp in

You just exit before your current entry stamp runs out (or less doesn't matter if you max out a stamp or not) and you'll get another 180 day entry stamp when you re-enter,

I know someone who got a DTV right after it rolled out (end of July actually) and they've been in and out over a dozen times on it so far with each entry giving them a NEW 180 day entry stamp
