I’ve been udon Thani for nearly 2 months since I spent a month back in England nearly 3 months in Pattaya before that. I want to apply for a 1 year visa as I’ve already left Thailand and come back 3 times and I’m worried I won’t get let back in. I know it costs just under £500 but what else will they ask me for? Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has been staying in Thailand and is looking to apply for a 1-year visa due to concerns about being let back into the country. They mention a cost of under £500 for the visa. Community comments provide various insights about visa options and requirements. Key points include the cost for extensions, the need for a Thai bank account holding 800,000 baht for certain visa types, and that multiple entries could still allow for visa extensions. Other visa options mentioned include the Non-Immigrant O visa, Education visa, Marriage visa, and the Digital Nomad visa (DTV). The user also inquires about the possibility of extending their current visa.

I have been in Thailand for about 10 years with several types of visas, most were tourist visas. Not once have I been turned-away. I have been spoken to a couple of times but they let me in.

I doubt you have anything to worry about

Ok, my visa runs out on the 13th of October I’m waiting to start a well paid job working remotely for a uk company, probably in the next few weeks.

Can I get an extension from immigration if I got one in June before I went home to the uk for a month?

oh really? Even if I do a boarder run? Thank you so much. Hopefully that will buy me enough time to start my new job and then apply for the dtv

@Joe ******
Yes, even if you do a border run. If you enter again visa exempt you can apply for a 30 day tourist extension.

Check visa options on your local RTE website.

Education Visa: Enroll in a Thai language school or another educational institution, which can grant you a visa for the duration of your studies.

Work Visa: Secure a job in Thailand. Your employer would need to sponsor your work permit and visa.

Marriage Visa (O Visa): If you're married to a Thai citizen, you can apply for a marriage visa, allowing you to stay longer.

The Thailand DTV is designed for remote workers and digital nomads who want to live in Thailand while working for foreign employers. This visa allows for a longer stay, typically up to one year, with the option for extensions.

The Thai Privilege Visa, formerly known as the "Thailand Elite Visa," is a long-term visa program designed for affluent individuals seeking to stay in Thailand for extended periods.

oh, an education visa might be the way. I definitely need and want to learn to speak more Thai. Thank you

Renember that you actually need to attend classes and learn, since you may be tested if they are uncertain that you do study, and fill the requirements for ED visa.

Get the Non Imm O visa in the Uk, £60 and then get the 1 year extention of stay at your local Immigration Office, 1900bt. You will need 800,000bt in a Thai bank account for the extention. Just seen you're not 50 yet so forget this post. Apologies!

funnily the non-O visa no longer shows on the e-visa, someone else mentioned this! It was £300 as I was going to apply
Steve *******
@Lee **********
£300 is for the Non Imm OX visa, which is a 5 year visa
Steve *******
@Ling ****
Nope. It's the OA that requires mandatory Thai company health insurance. The Non Imm O doesn't require health insurance
