I received a DTV visa earlier this year (in May), but due to personal circumstances I had to cancel my trip. I'm now planning to travel in October instead.
Does anyone know if there's a requirement to “activate” the visa within a certain time frame after it’s been issued? Or is it simply valid from the date of issue, meaning I can still travel later and I’ve just lost the months in between?

Come and go whenever and as often as you want within the 5 years. There's no need to activate it. It is valid from the moment it is issued
