TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling to Laos with an ED Visa, you need a re-entry permit to maintain your visa status in Thailand. You can obtain either a single re-entry permit for 1,000 THB or a multiple re-entry permit for 3,800 THB from your local Immigration Office or at the airport. Additionally, your 90-day reporting period will restart from your re-entry date into Thailand.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).

You have an Extension of Stay permitted up to ../../.. To keep this alive you need a re-entry permit, you can get a Single re-entry for 1.000 Thb or a multiple re-entry for 3.800 Thb at your local Immigration Office. Or on the airport just before you leave. On re-entry in Thailand you write the re-entry permit number on the arrival card as visa number and you get the same day as you have now stamped as Admitted to Stay.
