Whats the process for a Thai ED visa from Laos?

Answer summary

To obtain a Thai ED visa from Laos, you should prepare paperwork from your school and the Ministry of Education (MOE). Visit the Thai consulate, specifically in Vientiane or Savannakhet, to submit your application for a 90-day single entry Non-Immigrant Type ED visa. It's advisable to go in the morning and expect to collect your passport with the visa the next afternoon for a fee of 2000 baht. Also, be cautious of busy days at the consulate, typically Mondays and Thursdays, and ensure you have the correct documents as those for visa applications differ from those for extension of stay.

Try to avoid going to Vientiane on Mondays and Thursdays. That's the days the visa run services take people to the consulate so much busier in my experience

Before u leave please check the check list at your local immigration to see that you aren't missing any important documents.

Tod I'm so glad to move to Vietnam. No problems for visa. I just converted my one year visa to a 3 year visa and got a residence card here.

@Ji***

, most schools give you a document packet that has the stuff from them and the stuff from the Ministry of Education that you take to a thai consulate and get the 90 day single entry ED visa.

Some schools also recommend a consulate you should use too.

the list of required documents for an extension of stay inside the country is NOT the same as the documents required to get a visa from a thai consulate outside the country. :/
