Is it easy to leave Thailand on an Ed Visa and return with a re-entry permit?
I have a Thai EdVisa.
I was wandering if I want to leave the country to visit my family is it really that easy?
My school says: no worry very easy.
They say all I need to do is 1 paper called a reentry permit.
Is this true?

Leaving Thailand on an Ed Visa is possible, but you must obtain a re-entry permit from Thai Immigration to return. While some sources claim it's easy, there are reports of individuals being denied entry upon returning if their course of study is not completed. Exercise caution and verify all conditions before traveling.

It's NOT 🚫 wise to LEAVE THAILAND when you are under an Ed Visa.
Especially IF you have been living in Bangkok for 2 years using varied Visas, COVID extensions and Visa Exempt Entry.
Thai Immigration are watching closely those who leave Thailand and seek to re-enter during the time you are on the Ed Visa.
YES a re-entry permit needs to be obtained from Thai Immigration to be able to leave and re-enter under your current Ed Visa
But we are receiving reports of those who, like you, leave Thailand and seek to re-enter while their course of study is NOT yet completed. With DENIED ENTRY.
It's your choice. Choose wisely.
Good Luck
