Can you leave the country on an ed visa and get back in normally? I’ll be on an ed visa and then may go to the states for a couple weeks. Thoughts? Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can leave Thailand on an ED visa, but you will need to obtain a re-entry permit to ensure your visa remains valid for your return. This permit can be obtained at the immigration office or at international airports in Bangkok before your departure.

yep, you can get a re-entry permit at the immigration office or at both international airports here in Bangkok before you fly out

You'd probably need a re-entry permit to keep your extension "alive" so you could get stamped back in on it when you return

Hi Koos. I literally just got one from BKK. Took 10 minutes. Was very easy. Just download a TM.8 form I believe and fill it in before arrival at the visa re-entry permit kiosk near passport control after security :)

Hi Tod, can you get the re entry permit at the airport before leaving the country? On an ed visa.
