TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus in the comments is that obtaining an Ed visa in Laos and re-entering Thailand does not count as a land crossing in terms of the two allowed visa-exempt entries per calendar year. If you return to Thailand with a visa, it is not classified as a land entry without a visa.

Sheldon as you are now in Thailand.....how long have you been in Thailand this year 2019?
Thai Consulates appear to be reluctant in granting of Ed Visas to those who have been living in Thailand using various visas and visa exempt entries ...and extensions.
No problem to get the visa as he reported: Sheldon Van Iddekinge Robert Lagas I came back into Thailand with the Ed visa using the friendship bridge and by bus.
Westerners are allowed TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year. <- That means you ENTER the country without a visa and get stamped in for free for 30 days.
You entered the country by LAND and you entered WITH a visa in your passport, so no it does NOT count for the two land entries you can get entering without a visa in your passport.
and that void stamp might lead in not getting visa exemption at entry point? as i read in previous post today, that they send that person back to embassy to ask why voided

if they deny ED visa at embasy, do they leave some note, or write something inside passport?

that arise a question if u get refused ED visa in laos, then can u still enter by land on visa exemption or will exemption be denied for the same reason as the embassy did?

depends on how you come back into Thailand, if you cross using one of the Friendship bridges and bus it is a land crossing. If you try to ask if this entry into Thailand will count forward to the maximum of two entries a calendar year by land without a visa, the answer is no as you have a visa,
