Dear All, hope somebody can help / advise. I have checked posts first to see if I can find the answer but wasn't really clear. I entered Thailand on a Single Entry Non Immigrant B Visa, This has now been extended until next year and I have been told multiple entry until next year. Does this mean I don't need to get the rentry permit and complete TM8 at the airport. I have spoken to a few people and had conflicting information.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a Single Entry Non Immigrant B Visa that has been converted to a Multiple Entry Visa. There is confusion regarding the need for a re-entry permit when traveling in and out of Thailand. According to some comments, if the visa is indeed a Multiple Entry, no re-entry permit is required for re-entry into Thailand as long as the visa remains valid. However, it is advisable to confirm the type of visa and ensure the necessary permits are in place to avoid complications during re-entry.

You'll need a re-entry permit if you dont have one already. An extention isn't multi entry unles you buy a multi re-entry permit.

Thank you everybody who took the time to explain it. I thought this group was there to help.people and did not expect such negativity with regards to my question. I wanted reassurance having had issues the last few days which led me to having to change flight plans etc. My extension and entry were done by a legal person who could not explain it to me at all ...and this caused me more stress and anxiety knowing I was flying tonight. Once again thank you to those who took the time to give me the right answer etc.

This is a rather rare visa to have, so double check to make sure you have the Multiple Entry Non-B visa. But if you do, that means you can enter Thailand unlimited number of times before the end date of the visa. Each time you enter you will be stamped in for 90 days. After those 90 days you will need to leave Thailand and re-enter if you want more time and another 90 days. Because the visa is multiple entry, you do not need a re-entry permit as long as the visa is valid.

I also just received my Non Immigrant B visa for 1 year with the multiple entry.

It’s fairly straightforward, no? You can stay for 1 year in Thailand and re-enter as many times as you please.

I’m pretty sure you didn’t receive an extension on your initial 90 days non-immigrant B visa, it’s a complete new visa and document.

well the confusion was that you have to do an extra step to get multiple re-entry. It's not given automatically, you have to apply and pay for it. So that's what th confusion was.

@Sarita ******
you have 2 stamps there. 1 for the extension of stay and 1 for a re-entry permit. Both good until 3rd of January next year

So I got the extension of stay and then looks like multiple entry permit sorted at same time. Legal person who was with my from my work couldn't explain it to me clearly.....

@Sarita ******
Did you pay for a multiple re-entry stamp (3800 baht) during or after your visa extension? I agree with John that I've never heard of a multiple entry extension.

@Sarita ******
perhaps you should post a picture of the stamp. I've never heard of an extension of stay being multiple entry
