Can I use a single re-entry permit if I transit through Bangkok on my way to the UK before returning to Thailand while on a non-B visa?

I have a complex question. Someone on a non-B extension of stay goes on holiday outside Thailand. They then travel to the UK via Bangkok using 2 different airlines, meaning they'll need to go through immigration at BKK to put their bags on the next flight. After the UK they return to Thailand. Is it possible to do all this on a single re-entry permit or will they need a multi? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question addresses the process of traveling from Thailand to the UK and back with a non-B extension of stay, focusing on whether a single re-entry permit suffices when transiting through Bangkok. According to comments, if the traveler does not enter Thailand during the layover, one re-entry permit may be sufficient for the return. However, if they do enter Thailand during the transit, a second re-entry permit will be required.

Call the first airline and see if they have an agreement where you can check in for both flights and tag t bags to final destination.

If you transit through Bangkok *without* entering Thailand then a single re-entry permit will be all you need (when you actually re-enter on your return from the UK), however, if you don't transit and instead actually enter Thailand then you'll need another re-entry permit.
