Do I need to file a TM 30 every time I leave and re-enter Thailand if I have a 1-year extension of stay in Jomtien?

Morning all. After the confusion following being turned away when trying to file a TM 30 in Jomtien last week, (and worried that it might be a set up). I went to my lawyer and attended at Jomtien immigration. The position is as follows: If you are on a 1 year extension of stay and you have not changed address then you no longer need to file a TM 30 every time you leave the kingdom and re enter. NOTE This applies to Jomtien only.

TLDR : Answer Summary
According to a recent discussion, expatriates with a 1-year extension of stay in Jomtien are not required to file a TM 30 report every time they leave and re-enter the country, provided they have not changed their address. However, this information should be taken cautiously, as there are mixed experiences among individuals, with some reporting penalties and fines for non-compliance. The conversation highlights the variability in immigration practices across different offices in Thailand.

I would not rely on it . . as another poster already said . . they make it up as they go along. Every Immigration office throughout Thailand does as they please, regarding the interpretation of the TM30. I just had my share of the cake at the immigration in Sisaket. I was wisely enough to show up for TM30 after my stay abroad, or I take any bet it would be 2000 THB fine when I need to file my extension by December

They make things up as they go along - in Thai it is called "มั่ว"

And still doesnt explain why they fined someone on retirement visa last week?!

Did you get this in writing or just a verbal? Who at Immigration articulate this - Immigration Officer vs Chief?

Note: the Thai law cites every time it needs to be reported within 24-hours. Without something in writing it’s just 2nd Hand hear-say!

I’ve been told the same and have been in and out no problems but a lawyer the fine is only 1600 baht I’m sure less than a lawyer
