My retirement visa expires the 5th of March, I'm providing for a new one. I will leave Thailand for a trip the 21st of Feb and I'll be back the 5th of March. I have a multiple re-entry permit with the old visa. Do I need a new re-entry or the old re-entry will still be valid? Thanks for your input!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking clarification on whether their existing multiple re-entry permit remains valid if they renew their retirement visa before traveling outside Thailand. Community responses emphasize the importance of renewing both the visa and the corresponding re-entry permit before departure to avoid complications upon returning.

No, I’m take it as you renew your visa before you leave so your re entry has to be renewed same time as your visa. This 2 things before you leave on the 21 February
If you mean your new extension will be completed before you travel then you will need a new multi-entry re-entry permit based on your new permitted to stay date
If you arrive back on the day the extension expires, you'll only be stamped in for that day, which means you have to leave again before midnight. Extend it before you leave
