Do I just need to present the email with the QR code upon arrival in Thailand for my DTV?

Hi, I have just received an email of approval for my DTV, I thought I would have had to go to the Thai embassy to get a proper visa on my passport.

So apparently all I need to do is to print this piece of paper that they’ve emailed me, fly to Thailand and present it at immigration ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for entering Thailand after receiving DTV approval via email has been clarified by several users. It appears that upon receiving the email approval, including a QR code, one does not need to visit a Thai embassy to obtain a physical visa. Instead, travelers can present the email or QR code at immigration upon arrival in Thailand. Experiences shared suggest that this process can be quick and efficient, eliminating the need for prior physical documentation.

Okokok…

Why do you think do they offer a QR code or why they send an email with the visa attached?

Why is it not more needed to go to the embassy and grab your visa as paper? To print it out after you received the mail?

Yes. Of course. Totally logic :)

On my arriving I showed the email, they compared the passport numbers and done. The entry was done in 3 minutes.

Of course that is logic.

QR codes are meant to print out, and much better scannable from paper than from a screen.

That you don't follow clear instructions given by Thai authorities who friendly ask to print the visa, and nevertheless got in without problems, does not mean you should give this as an advice to others.

Why not just follow the rules? It is not really difficult is it?

P.S. 3 minutes at immigration is far above average, so maybe your stubborn behavior caused some delay after all...

sent by email does not mean show on phone. It’s specifically written on the email that you should *PRINT* the evisa. Period. You’re not the one making the rules. Just follow it and don’t advise others to follow your ideas as it’s not the rules. Be in front of a immigration officer who’s in his/her moody day and apply strictly rules “sir we need a printed visa, if you’re unable to provide you’ll enter with visa exemption” then you’ll be f*cked.

Come on isn’t it said clear enough on the evisa website ? And also in the email you received ?? I wonder how those people have survival skills when traveling 😱😱🤣🙄

this is the entire purpose of this group people who have questions on something that other people have experience with. Why are you here? Is to flex how knowledgable you are on DTV’s? 🤣🤡

you whole comment shows how many people nowadays have no idea how to look for information before asking: you have a search function, many things. If the topic is very specific and needs human experience, of course it’s normal. Nowadays it feels like if everyone in an airport was in front of departure screen and was asking other people about the departure gate of their flight. I’m perfectly fine with helping others, but when there is laziness and zero effort, it’s just making noise for useless repeated questions.

hopefully you now are feeling better, from the rush you hopefully sought and experienced, spamming the person who posted such a simple question.

Not all of us are as informed... and this forum serves a purpose.

Be kind and enjoy your day in Thailand.

survive? by asking EVERY possible question on Facebook rather than using a gram of brain cells. I'm waiting for "I have a sink in my hotel room with a tap, how do I get water out?"

be patient, next batch coming 🤣🤣😱😱

In this email should be a QR code. Just show this QR code on arriving in Thailand.

No print. Show the email or the QR code.

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL

it's specifically instructed on the e-visa website to print out the PDF included in the approval email and hand it to immigration upon arrival or airlines if requested

it has to be printed, it’s specified and it’s the rule. Most likely they’ll be fine with your phone, but what if you have a problem with your phone, or the immigration officer is in a mood to make your life not easy ? So just stick to the rules and print the evisa as specified on their rules. And don’t recommend your f*ke info to others please.

Which Thai Embassy/Consulate did you apply at and receive approval from?
